The Sanctuary is just that --  A peaceful and tranquil place to totally disconnect from this hectic world.   

This home is actually a mother-in-law apartment that was initially created for our mothers, neither of whom was able to utilize it.  However, many others have had the opportunity to stay with us.

We are located on our 80 acre farm and you may feel free to walk around and enjoy our space.   The only close neighbor is me and my husband.  Since The Sanctuary is under our roof, we are here and we actually share a screened back porch.  We enjoy sitting out there, especially in the morning while we drink our coffee and plan the day or in the evenings for winding down and enjoying a glass of wine or tea.  When we are in our home, you will not hear us nor us you.

There is a home 50+ yards away that is owned by my niece, Linda, and her family.   She also has 3 dogs (2 great danes and a mutt)  You may see her or her mother, Candy, in their yard.

Your entrance will be on the west side of our home and ours is on the east side, so we may not even see each other.

If you know Judy, you know that she likes color.  She has utilized southwestern colors and decor to create an interesting and vivid home.  Nothing dull for this old girl!

The Great Room is about 400 sq. ft. and contains the living area, dining area, kitchenette, and bathroom.  We believe in comfortable furniture, so you will find a recliner, rocker, and a loveseat (hideabed).  The TV is wall-mounted and can easily be seen in all areas of the room.

The kitchenette has everything you need for easy living -- unless you are determined to cook a full meal.  There is no stove, but we do have an induction cooktop, electric frypan, crockpot, microwave, and countertop oven.  All dishware, cookware, spices, cutlery is provided.  There is also a comfortable table for four.

The bathroom has a large sink, handicapped height toilet, and large step in shower.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized Sleep Number bed.  If you haven't tried these yet, you will love the adjustability for two people (inevitably one person wants a soft bed and the other wants a firm one!)   This way you both get what you want.

The secondary bedroom has a firm full-sized bed.  There is a desk in here for those who feel they just have to work...

Feel free to walk around our home.  The Grandaddy Oak tree outside is estimated to be over 400 years old.  It has a large swing and a picnic table for your enjoyment.

Explanation of Cleaning and Security Deposit

Since you are a previous guest, you have established a reputation with me as someone I can trust.  I would like to offer you the opportunity of cleaning up this home for yourself.  All cleaning supplies and instructions are provided AND I will wash and replace all linens.  If you will do everything else (dust, vacuum, mop--if necessary, clean bathroom, clean kitchen) your entire cleaning and security deposit will be returned.  If you want me to handle these chores, my charge is $50 per hour.   After you depart, I will quickly determine if any cleaning needs to be done and that charge will be taken from this deposit.   If no cleaning is required, your entire deposit will be returned in the same way it was sent to me.  Questions, just ask!
